About us

Thousands of shops in Lagos, and almost none online.

Not because the people running them are not ready. Because getting online has meant a developer, a designer, a hosting bill and a month of waiting — for a shop that sells bags. Weblanda is the short way round: a real shop, at your own address, taking real payments, this afternoon.

OPEN
Our vision

A future where anyone with something to sell and a phone can put a real business on the internet — no gatekeeping, no waiting on someone else's calendar.

Our mission

Take everything that makes selling online hard, and do it for you — so the only thing left is the part you're good at.

What we believe

Four positions, all of them expensive.

Every one of these costs Weblanda something. That is what makes them worth writing down.

Your sales are yours

Weblanda takes no percentage of what you sell. You pay for a plan, and the money from an order goes from your customer to your own bank account without passing through us. It is the one commitment here we would have to break loudly, so it is the one worth making.

The phone is the computer

Most of our sellers will never open this on a laptop. So the dashboard is not a desktop tool made narrower — the screens that matter were laid out for a phone first, and the ones that could not work on a phone were rethought rather than shrunk.

We do not sell what we have not built

Weblanda's own pricing page once listed twelve features that did not exist. They were removed and the unbuilt ones are now shown struck through, under "on the way". Anything you are charged for on this site is running today.

Priced for Lagos, not for San Francisco

Plans are quarterly and priced against what a small Nigerian business actually spends in a quarter. There is no monthly option on purpose: a quarter carries you past the month where a new shop is still being set up, which is where people give up.

Who builds it

A small operation, and we would rather say so.

Weblanda is built by Weblake Technologies, a company registered in Lagos, Nigeria. It is not a large team, and this page is not going to pretend otherwise with a wall of headshots.

What that buys you is directness. The person who answers support is the person who can change the product, so a good suggestion is often shipped rather than logged. What it costs you is that we build one thing at a time, which is why the pricing page is honest about what is still on the way.

The delivery, payments and hosting underneath are not ours and are not pretending to be — Paystack moves the money, real courier companies carry the parcels. Weblanda is the part that makes them work together without you having to.

The things we did not build

  • Payments. Paystack, on live keys. Your own subaccount, your own bank.
  • Couriers. Real delivery companies, quoted at checkout and booked after payment.
  • Hosting and domains. Handled for you, and included. Nothing to buy or renew.

We are a software company, not a bank and not a courier. Where something is somebody else's job, we say whose — including in the Terms, where it decides who is responsible when an order goes wrong.

The shop takes an afternoon. The decision takes longer.

Fourteen days free, no card. If it is not for you, we have written that down too.
